Whose approval do I need to share my data?

The process and approvals needed to share your data depend on whether the data are owned by IU, as well as the classification level of your data. You, as the researcher, are responsible for initiating and engaging in the appropriate processes to ensure that there is adequate understanding of the third party’s security environment, the business needs, risks, and mitigating safeguards are analyzed and documented, and that the institutional information is adequately protected.
