How can a research data librarian help me plan my research?

Research data librarians at Indiana University (IU) offer a range of support services to assist researchers in managing, storing, and sharing their research data. They offer:

  • Guidance on creating Data Management Plans (DMPs) for grant proposals (e.g., NIH, NSF).
  • Advice on selecting appropriate storage and repositories that comply with IU policies and funding agency requirements.
  • Consultations on data organization, metadata, documentation, and data archiving for long-term preservation.
  • Training sessions and workshops on data management tools and best practices.
