How do I know what compliance protocols I need to follow for my research?
All research affiliated with Indiana University must comply with federal, state, and institutional regulations and guidelines. There are procedures in seven compliance areas that establish the highest ethical standards and best practices in pre-clinical, clinical, and other research activities at IU. All of them are enforced independently of funding agencies or sponsorship. The seven areas include:
- Animal care and use
- Biological Safety
- Radiation Safety
- Human subjects
- Conflict of interest
- Export control
- Research misconduct
