  1. Prepare your data: Organize your files, choose open formats (e.g., CSV, TIFF), and create documentation like README files, metadata, and data dictionaries.
  2. Select the right repository:
    • Use DataCORE (IUB and regional campuses) or DataWorks (IUI) for datasets.
    • Consult with a RCdata librarianContact information for IU Research Data Services Librarians RC data librarian or RCSecureMyResearchFree resources & consulting to help researchers protect data RC SecureMyResearch if the data is sensitive or restricted.
  3. Submit your data: Upload files, provide metadata, select a license, and include a data availability statement. A RCDOIMints DOIs for scholarly work deposited in DataCore & IUScholarWorks RC DOI will be assigned for citation.
